This two thousand two-hundred square foot residence was designed to accommodate a variable and evolving program for an architect and a painter. With its open living plan and expansive roof garden, this modern pumice-crète structure was a modest and elegant proposal for a new custom residence.

 

The traditional gabled standing seam roof provides a traditional form for more modern massing and typological forms to build off of, while also speaking casually to the existing historic gabled adobe buildings neighbouring the site.
